There’s really not long until we will all be back together on the farm doing what we do best! To help you prepare here’s BG HQ’s top tips for navigating Saturday 27 on the farm. If you missed our Friday guide, you can also take a look here, and keep an eye out for our Sunday Guide that will follow.
There’s so much going on that we can’t include everything, but consider these guides your topline starting points 🎉
For music on the farm we have:
The Main Stage, which hosts our bigger well known artists including your headliners
The Bandstand presented by heycar, our smallest quirkiest stage
Alex James’ Cheese Hub, the ultimate destination for dancing to awesome DJs
BBC Music Introducing stage, where you can listen to new and upcoming music
Sundown Saloon, NEW for 2023, hosting Country Music genre
Our tips:
Start the day at The Bandstand presented by heycar and catch the Fun DMC Nice DJ set at 11:30am.
Don’t miss Jake Morell 12pm, or Jez Harley 1.15pm at the Sundown Saloon stage to enjoy a great performance and visit our new area The Smokery.
Make time to head over to BBC Music Introducing to listen to new and upcoming artists performing such as Chloe Elliot 2pm or Abi Farrell 3pm.
Head to The Main Stage be blown away by super cool rock chick Dylan at 4.15pm and then stick around for our Eurovision hero Sam Ryder at 6.45pm.
The Cheese Hub will be hosting the epic DJ Jaguar Skills from 7.15 - 9.15pm so drop by for a dance session whenever suits.
Our evening line-up on The Main Stage will be one to remember. Basement Jaxx will take to the stage from 8pm followed by pop sensation Anne-Marie at 9.30pm.
Close the evening with The Cheese Hub After Party, starting at 23.15.
For family entertainment, the opportunities for fun really are endless. Here’s some of our Friday highlights, picked by the BF team.
Our tips:
Head straight to Tree Climbing to sign up for a session before the crowds hit. Then head to The Big Top to watch Calypso Kids take to the stage at 10.30am with an awesome family-fun performance.
Next, make your way to The Main Stage to watch Big Feastival royalty and family favourite Children’s TV Megastar Justin Fletcher at 12pm.
For fun throughout the day, head to Crafty Corner, our new area for 2023. We suggest having a go at the pottery workshops at The Makery. Also, head over to the heycar tent and have some run racing on the SEGA rally racing stations.
Later in the day head over to The Village Green to catch an exciting skillful performance by Farmyard Circus at 4pm then back to The Big Top to watch an iconic performance of The Rainbow Fish, 5pm.
To end a day of non-stop family fun, head over to our CBeebies Bedtime Stories tent, where a special celebrity guest will read a story to our little ones.
The food on offerings, experiences and opportunities at Big Feastival are mega. One day on the farm will certainly leave you hungry for more, but you can certainly squeeze in a good taster of what’s on offer! Here are BF HQ’s top tips…
Our tips:
Start the day with a treat. Head over to our exclusive dining experience Feast on The Farm, to enjoy a Cornish inspired feast in a rustic dining setting. More information and tickets here.
Throughout the day drop in to the NEFF Big Kitchen to watch some amazing chef demonstrations and learn from the best. Not to be missed, Michelin star Clare Smyth at 3.30pm and owner of Wahaca Thomasina Miers 5.30pm.
Our Table Sessions are also back for 2023. We have a Workshops, Q&A Sessions and Tasting Sessions for you and the gang to drop into. Take the opportunity to quiz some of your favourite chefs, pick up some top tips in a Workshop with Ching He Huang, James Cochran or Fitwaffle, and get to know some of your favourite brands better at a Tasting Sessions with M&S, Freedom or Chandon.
In terms of street food - this is a hard one. We suggest indulging in some more-ish Greek food at Smashing Plates, or if you fancy some BBQ food head into our new area The Smokery and grab yourself some Bare Bones. To feed the sweet tooth, look no further than Dappa (Ve), for the perfect ice cream.
Back for 2023 our Freedom Bar will be providing you great vibes and great beer. New for this year, the Freedom Sessions Stage will be hosting an array of fun and exciting talent throughout the weekend.
