Charity Partners

For 2018 we are supporting two incredible charities - Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and Action Against Hunger! Find out about all of the hard work they do for their causes below.

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity helps to ensure that every seriously ill child throughout the UK receives the best possible healthcare by having established over 60 specialist Roald Dahl paediatric nurses in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Nurses are often based in hospitals, but work in their communities, visiting children and their families at home and in schools to offer support and reduce anxieties.

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity further support nurses’ specialist training requirements and seek to fund innovative, nurse-led projects that improve quality of care. Assistance is also provided to families caring for seriously ill children who are in financial hardship through a Marvellous Family Grants Programme.

The charity focuses its work on funding conditions which have historically not received as much attention, such as rare diseases and undiagnosed conditions, sickle cell, epilepsy and acquired brain injuries. At any one time, Roald Dahl specialist nurses care for in excess of 18,600 children and their families and this year, the charity aims to fund a further 5 nursing posts.

Action Against Hunger

Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organisation that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. They save the lives of malnourished children, and they ensure everyone can access clean water, food, training and healthcare. They enable entire communities to be free from hunger.

Action Against Hunger has been working with the UK food industry for over 20 years. They collaborate with restaurants, chefs, critics, producers and food lovers year-round to raise vital funds for their lifesaving programmes.
