Tommy Banks

Born and raised in Oldstead into a family of farmers, Chef Tommy Banks’s passion for food and nature flourished from a young age. Tommy’s family bought The Black Swan just as he finished school and he started working there. By 2013, at the age of 24, Tommy was awarded a Michelin Star making him the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Britain at the time. The Black Swan also now has four AA Rosettes for the restaurant and AA 5 Stars, Gold Award and Breakfast Award for the rooms. Tommy Banks was a winner on BBC Two’s Great British Menu, in both 2016 and 2017. He has since appeared on Saturday Kitchen, Sunday Brunch, The Apprentice and as a mentor on Masterchef. Tommy's first cookbook ‘Roots’ will be released on April 5th 2018, on Orion Publishing.
