The Udder Field
Brand new for 2018 and exclusive to the festival, The Collaboration Kitchen will serve up a series of special edition menus co-created by some of the most innovative names on the UK street food scene. Festival-goers can enjoy culinary mash-ups from Burger & Beyond x Other Side Fried, Ink Squid x Oli Baba's, The Cheese Bar x Claw, The Piadina Project x Le Swine, Rainbo x Farang, Spice Box x Polu Poke, The Piadina Project x Sub Cult and the trilogy of DJ BBQ x Smokestak x Andy Low N Slow.
Gin is the thing and we are delighted to be hosting the Warner Edwards Gin Barn for the first time at this year’s Big Feastival, a must-visit for gin-lovers with cocktails, masterclasses and live gin distilling. The full programme of activities will be announced soon so watch this space for details.
Elsewhere visitors can tuck into dishes from Market Feast or take a seat in Cottons Caribbean Rum Shack, who are threatening to steal the show with their Cool Runnings themed pop-up. Turning up the heat with Caribbean culinary treats and tasty rum-based cocktails, enjoy a cool Pina Colada or Mojito whilst cutting a few shapes listening to live reggae and steel pans. You can even get involved in a bit of limbo dancing or experiment with some rum tastings across the three days.
The musically-minded should head to The Udder Stage, with music and dance workshops taking place each morning, the return of The Big Feastival’s Got Talent, BBC Introducing take-overs each afternoon and a silent disco until the early hours.
Try something new at The Treehouse Stage, in association with Alpro, with activities including Laughing Yoga, Hulafit and At Your Beat dance sessions. Join the official Big Feastival choir with the incredible Some Voices or enjoy Feastival favourites Disco Yoga and Swing Patrol.
Sampling their 100% plant-based menu, Alpro will also be hosting The Alpro Planquet. Create your own tasty treats for a brilliant breakfast using fruit, nuts, seeds and herb ingredients. Relax on a day-bed consisting completely of plants, experience walls of plant-based colours and learn all about food waste prevention with the Alpro team.
Continuing the back to nature theme, this year visitors can also try their hands at Woodland Crafts – watch this space as we unveil a whole host of activities at the end of our woodland walk soon. As dusk settles each night, join us around The Campfire for sing-a-longs and marshmallow toasting.
And finally, completing our Udder Field line-up, there’s The Vintage Funfair! Get ready for adventures on The Helter Skelter, views from above on The Big Wheel, hair-raising rides on The Swing Carousel and daring drives on The Dodgems. Be sure to make time for a fairground classic in between enjoying the musical delights and the crème de la crème of British Street Food to make the most of your festival experience.
